It’s 2025 and your wish FINALLY comes true: Nerd Nite made it to Cyprus! You will soon be able to enjoy your favorite monthly event (you most likely already know from one of the over 100+ cities worldwide where it’s already happening) on the beautiful island of Cyprus 🇨🇾.
But … just in case, you don’t know what Nerd Nite is all about, here a brief summary:
- Speakers: Up to 3 (self-proclaimed) nerds, telling us something we (probably) didn’t know already, while taking themselves not too seriously
- Location: A cool, chill, non-academic, non-corporate, non-sales-bs, non-too-serious place to hang out with friends or soon-to-be nerds->friends
- Talks: About 20mins each, funny/weird/entertaining, topic: anything “nerdy” – can be scientific, a special interest/hobby, a random (but: cool) fact worth talking about, basically anything that entertains a curious mind 🙂
- Audience: Drinking (!), learning and having a good time
It’s like the badass version of a TED talk. Like that drunk cousin (“he always talks too much”) at the birthday party. Like that one time when a random guy at a party told you that weird story you still keep thinking about it.
It’s what they say. “It’s like the Discovery Channel … with beer”.

The organizers
Danijel Ilisin got in touch with software programming somewhen in the early 1980s and somehow got stuck with it, means: still “works in IT” (to be specific: DevOps). He once won a boomerang construction competition at age 9 and is still amazed by that. Proud Aspie, member of Mensa Germany and ultra-curious oddball by heart. Other areas of interest: Electronic music (listening/producing), Cats (got four: Gandalf, Frodo, (Barden) Bella and Amy (Farrah Fowler)), Simulation Theory, Psychology, Gaming, Daytrading (Charts FTW!) … and more.
